For a sequel, this book was pretty darned good! Most YA series have a super awesome start, but then kind of die off after that, but this book has kept me interested in this series enough to want to finish it to the end!Not too much happened plot-wise in this book, which might be part of the reason why it wasn't as good as the first one. However, the events that DID happen were riveting and kept me glued to my Kindle screen in excitement! So many plot twists and unexpected events take place in this one that I didn't see coming, and I can't wait to see how the characters deal with all of this in the next book.
Jade's character development is coming along nicely, too. She's learning to take responsibility and to worry about others instead of only herself. Her relationship with Aiden has strengthened even more, and those two are so freaking adorable that it makes me jealous :P Aiden's so hot, dreamy, kind, and understanding...Heck...if I found a guy like that, I'd marry him like that *snaps fingers in a sassy manner* :)
The one thing I think that the author needs to work on is her characters' reactions to some of the things that happen. When Jade found herself covered in the blood of her friends, she acted like nothing was wrong. And I know that Aiden uses the so-called "feel-good endorphins" to make her panic go away, but this seems like a cheap, quick way out of dealing with the emotions of her characters. I feel like this raw fear and emotion would make things more realistic and gripping. But that's just me.
And the one character that fascinated me to no end was this mysterious DD that we hear about through texts, videos, and written notes. Even though we never hear his voice or see him in person, he still manages to intrigue me. His convoluted mind is fascinating in a creepy kind of way, and when I finally found out his true identity...Ahhhhhh!! OMG...
I will definitely be coming back when book 3 comes out! Carrero has me hooked! :)

2nd book as good or better than the first. I hope there is a 3rd. I'm beginning to think sleep is highly overrated, I had rather read good books like these written by Kelly Carrero.
I just loved it and was so disappointed in the end, cause the other book is not out yet and I am desperate to find out what is happening. But yes read this series. it was awesome. Can't wait. Loved it.
Kept me reading straight to the end! Always something to keep you thinking and waiting for what was next. I kind of figured the DD CLUE OUT, but wasn't sure until the very end.....well on to the next book, can't wait. Enjoy!
Found the first book by mistake and bought this shortly after. I love the whole series and the characters and I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment as I'd like to read a lot more from this author! Please read, was a great book!
Very well written. Kept me interested from the very first chapter. A lot of books have a good story line but are so poorly written its hard to stay interested in the book. Others are very well written with a poor story line. This is not one of those books! I could not put it down. I read the entire series in two weeks. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This was a great second book. I will definitely move on to the third book. It moves at a great pace and it has a great story line.
I read this in one day. Wondering who DD is will keep you guessing throughout the entire book. I love how Kelly chose to make Aiden and Jade a united front and they always stick together to support each other. The reason this did not get a full five stars from me is due to the constant reference in the beginning of this book to book one. I felt while some remembrance to things from the first book was useful, the detail that the author went to was way too much in most cases. That space could have been used for something more useful or left out altogether. In other words, we already read about that once and if someone needs a reminder they can go back and read book one. Other than that, I loved the sequel and don't regret my purchase. I can't wait until book three comes out.
